Private Equity Today is like ...

- the Junk Bond era of the 1980's
- the Dot.com bubble of the 1990's
- the hedge fund craze of the early 2000's

Check out Forbes, March 13, 2006 Issue: The Buyout Bubble.

yes, but like dot.coms and junk bonds, if you pick your spots and the right firms (and save your $$$) you'll end up OK. i work in pe (so i'm just a little biased) but i also think that business media is always looking for the next "craze" (housing, google, etc.) so i take it all with a grain of salt.

Isn't it sad how all your life you are told you can do it all and now you realize it's all BS?

The Forbes article doesn't make much sense.

Good article from the Daily Deal; not much of a craze really, nor a bubble, nor a threat.
